Customer Challenges:

Marketing their sensitive, time-critical products and services requires a robust and integrated tech stack. For this reason, Client relied on HubSpot’s Ops Hub and its advanced features, such as data sync, custom-coded workflows, and programmable automation, to optimize its CRM strategy. They faced several unique challenges:

  • Sensitive Document Delivery: Clients needed to purchase compliance documents from the website, but the links to these documents had to expire after a set time, ensuring security.
  • Inefficient Billing Management: The absence of automated invoicing and reporting processes hampered efficiency.
  • Data Attribution Issues: Peerless struggled to move data from Stripe into HubSpot, limiting its ability to track ad spend performance and associate revenue with the sales team.

Custom Payment Integration: Using Ops Hub, a secure integration was developed to connect Stripe and HubSpot. 

This included:

  • Generating expiring links for document downloads through an API gateway.
  • the private Stripe key to be secured to maintain data integrity.
  • Using a hidden HubSpot form to confirm successful payments and trigger workflows.

Automated Workflows: The integration employed custom-coded workflows via HubSpot Ops Hub. These workflows:

  • Stored data on the customer’s contact record.
  • Deployed personalized email tokens for seamless document delivery.

Revenue Tracking: Data from Stripe was synced into HubSpot, enabling Peerless to attribute revenue directly to its sales team and measure ad spend ROI.

Integration steps:

​To integrate Stripe with HubSpot, we start by navigating to Sales > Payments > Payments in HubSpot account and clicking 'Connect Stripe' in the top right corner. After confirming the company is based in the United States and agreeing to the Stripe Integration Beta Terms, we follow the on-screen instructions to set up a Stripe account, which involves providing account details, completing business information (if required), and setting up two-factor authentication. Once completed, we were redirected back to HubSpot. Payment status now displays 'Ready to transact' label. Now the integration is complete, we can seamlessly manage subscriptions, payment links, quotes, and invoices directly in HubSpot, streamlining payment processes and enhancing workflow efficiency.
